Spring Refresh – Mint Home Inspiration

Spring is my favourite season.  While we really can’t complain about Winter weather too much (after all no one here is shoveling snow anytime soon) this year it was especially rainy, windy and cold.  I think it makes me appreciate beautiful Spring afternoons even more!

Spring is also a great time for a home refresh.  Most Sundays I’m organizing a closet, tidying up the desk drawers or sorting the kitchen cabinets.  While I admit that these chores are not the most exciting, they’re somehow more tolerable when the sun is out, the windows are open and there’s a warm breeze blowing through the house.

If painting is on your Spring cleaning schedule and you want to capture that fresh feeling in your home, try mint – either in wall paint or accessories.  It’s light and cheerful – especially great for brightening up small bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens.  And if you’re worried you’ll go back in time to the 70’s here are some beautiful contemporary spaces that feature mint.  Don’t forget to Pin your favourites for later and if you want to learn more about these designs click on the photos to be redirected to the source.

Let’s start in the bedroom.  Just think of how refreshed you’ll be starting the day here!  Pair mint with crisp white sheets and furniture, then add colourful accents and metallic touches in a trendy copper.  I would advise against a cactus next to the alarm clock though!  OUCH!

Time to put away those heavy winter covers! Swapping out the bedding is one of the fastest, easiest and most affordable ways to give your bedroom a new look.  Add a touch of mint with a new duvet cover or throw pillows.  Grey is my favourite colour and I love how it’s instantly more cheerful with mint sheets.

Breakfast in bed is amazing any time but it’s even better when served on a stylish tray like this one!  See how well mint goes with soft pink and strong black?

Next, let’s head into the bathroom.  I can’t start the day without taking a shower and who wouldn’t feel refreshed after just stepping into this bathroom?  Keep it chic with a simple colour scheme of mint and white then add fresh flowers for colour.  It’s Spring after all!

Sometimes the most stunning spaces are the most simple ones.  I can’t get enough of this mint and grey bathroom!

Okay, let’s get past the fact that this bathroom is HUGE and focus on the colour of the vanities.  Painting your old vanity is a great way to update the bathroom quickly and on a budget.

If you think mint + kitchen = “when can we renovate” take a look at these beautiful spaces that are anything but dated.  Pair mint with warm metals like gold and brass for a stunning combination.

Or start small with a scattering of minty coloured accessories!  A statement piece of furniture, lampshade, or vase in mint create the perfect pop of refreshing colour.
