There are thousands of paint colours and even more combinations. It can certainly feel overwhelming, especially when you’re picking the decor for your entire house. There are, however, certain colours that go very well together and some pairings may surprise you!
One of the best tools (and one we use most often) is the colour wheel. I’ll skip the boring lecture on primary, secondary, and tertiary colours and skip straight to some of my favourite colour schemes.
Opposites attract! That’s why blue and orange, which are opposite each other on the colour wheel, go so well together. Blue can be quite cold when used all over but a pop of orange really warms up your space. Likewise, orange is very high energy and fiery but blue accents will balance the room with a cool touch. Below are some of my favourite spaces so flip through and click on the images for more info.
What else goes with blue? Try green! It’s fresh, bright and perfect for spring.
It’s no secret that I LOVE grey. If you prefer your home to have a fun modern feel try using grey and yellow together!
I love crisp white furniture, cabinets or trim and gold hardware is a great way to add a glamorous touch. White can feel quite cold, especially when you have an entire kitchen full of cabinets but gold pulls and handles can make a big difference.
Want to add a feminine touch to your home? You can’t go wrong with pink! It’s another combination that makes me instantly think of Spring.
