SIMPLY WHITE OC-117 – Benjamin Moore Color Of The Year 2016

It seems that every year, life gets a little more hectic.  There are more projects on the to-do list, more places to visit, more emails to answer.  It’s nice to be able (for a brief while anyway) to wipe the slate clean and start fresh.

For 2016 Benjamin Moore chose Simply White OC-117 as its Color Of The Year.  With thousands of choices, it’s nice to return to basics.  With a clean and airy feel, white rooms make me think of Spring with the windows open and a gentle breeze.  It’s the smell of clean sheets on the bed.  And even though I love deep saturated colours, there’s a bit of nostalgia for white farmhouse kitchens and fresh from the garden meals.

We may not live in a farmhouse anymore but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring back some of those fuzzy feelings.  Because Simply White has a hint of creamy warmth, it won’t feel stark and cold.  It’s great on its own for both walls and woodwork but it can also be the perfect neutral background for furniture and accessories with a bit of colour.  Pair with warm woods and soft fabrics for a simple uncomplicated space.

Below are some great ideas from our friends at Benjamin Moore.  Click on the image for more Color Trends and don’t forget to Pin your favourites!
