COLOUR COMBINATIONS – Orange & Pink

My favourite colour may be grey (just last week I painted the dining room in Benjamin Moore Penthouse) but living on a beautiful island, bright shades are sure to rub off.  With Summer well under way, the hibiscus hedge is in full bloom – with help from last week’s rain no doubt.  If you’re looking for inspiration on your next decorating project, nature can be a great source and her colour pairings are almost always a success.

If you love bold colours, try the feminine and electric combination of zesty orange and punchy pink.  As with any bright or busy decor, a little can go a long way.  For a chic look,  use it sparingly set against either a white background for a modern space or an off-white background (Benjamin Moore Cloud White is one of my favourite shades) for a warmer more traditional room.  If you want to create a fun space, layer shades of orange and pink against an accent wall of the same colour.  You can even paint the ceiling!

Remember that this combination is very high energy so I would keep it out of spaces like the nursery.  It will make it harder for your little one to wind down for a nap or go to sleep at the end of the day.  It is perfect, however, for cheering up smaller rooms which may not have a lot of light.
