Chalk Paint® Inspiration – Two Tone Furniture

One of the great things about fixing up old furniture is experimenting with colour (if you want to be a pro at mixing shades brush up on your colour wheel).  My favourite is adding a pop of the unexpected by painting the inside of cabinets, shelves, or drawers in a fun colour for a bright surprise.

At home, I am slowly working through painting the office furniture a mixture of Chalk Paint® in Country Grey on the outside and Primer Red on the inside.  I love the idea of a neutral and unassuming exterior and a bold interior colour.   You can read more about it here.

Pinterest keeps me up at night and my husband often rolls over to find the glow of the iPad coming from my side of the bed (he thinks I need an intervention) but there are so many creative people out there and so little time for me to sort through them all.  I have managed to narrow down the millions of photos to a few of my favourites below.

TIP:  These looks are stunning but they take PATIENCE and a lot of painter’s tape.  My favourite is 3M Delicate Surface Tape for freshly painted surfaces.  And don’t forget the hardware!  New knobs or pulls can make a huge difference.

The glow of the iPad! I do the same but try to turn the light down so it doesn’t look like a UFO is in the room. Love the chalk paint and I can’t wait to try it.
