COLOUR COMBINATIONS – Navy And Gold

Some of the most interesting spaces are created when the unexpected come together.  That’s why I love the combination of the rich cool tones of a deep blue paired with the warm glitter of metallic gold.

Like that favourite pair of jeans, blue is a colour that goes great with almost anything.  Since it’s on the cool range of the spectrum, the first impulse is to pair it with other cool metals like silver or pewter.   But adding a warmer metal like gold or brass can make a modern colour feel homey and traditional.

Often small touches make the biggest impact.  Consider updating cabinet hardware, bathroom fixtures, or lights with accessories in a gold finish.  For a lived in feel look for an antiqued patina.  Add a gallery wall with gilded photo frames or mirrors!  Love to paint?  Modern Masters make a wonderful line of metallic latex paints that can be used on anything from walls to furniture.
