If The Fresh Smell Of Clean Laundry Had A Colour…

Doing the laundry is my favourite household chore. There’s something inspiring about putting in dirty, smelly clothes and like magic having them come out fresh and clean. And who doesn’t love putting on those right out of the dryer pants when it’s cold outside? Crisp sheets and fluffy towels? Need I go on?!?!?
Take that same clean feeling and use it to brighten up your home. Shades of blue visually recede which means smaller rooms feel larger and breezier. Combine with other fresh hues like lemon yellow or spring green and add crisp white trim, woodwork or linens. Want to warm things up? Add touches of coral or orange.
For walls, my new favourite wall paint colour is Benjamin Moore Ewing Blue CW-585 out of the Colonial Williamsburg collection. Another great shade is Benjamin Moore Ocean Air, which is a bit softer but still fresh and pairs beautifully with either white or cream. I also loved Benjamin Moore’s Color Of The Year 2014, Breath Of Fresh Air (great name!).
Need some beautiful spaces to get inspired? Here are some of my favourite finds.
Now if you excuse me, all this closet talk has gotten me inspired for a little Fall cleaning of my own!

I didn’t used to be a huge fan of blue. But now I’m all blue and gray! Love these rooms.
For most adult spaces, the trick is picking a blue that has a HINT of grey in it. It will soften the colour and not look like a nursery. Thanks for visiting!
