Christmas Colours Beyond Green And Red

IMAGE COURTESY OF BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS

In our house the Christmas tree arrives the week after Thanksgiving and so beings the annual battle of the ornaments.  My husband and I have opposing views on how to decorate.  He is sentimental (which I love) so every ornament we ever received, no matter the colour or theme, goes on the tree front and center.  I, on the other hand, love a colour coordinated tree with perfectly scattered ornaments – preferably with a theme.  Over the years, we have met somewhere in the middle but that doesn’t mean I don’t drool over those perfect magazine/Pinterest holiday decoration photos.

Even though the traditional holiday colours are red, green and gold there are so many other creative combinations to match any design style and decor, especially with all the amazing fake tree options (love the white ones!).   If you have leftover ornaments, use them to dress up table settings, light fixtures, or curtain rods.

TIP:  Dress up natural elements like leaves, pinecones, branches, and bark

To get you in the holiday mood, I’ve put together some of my favourites from Pinterest.  Click on the photos for more!
