Mad About PLAID

Patterns are a great way to add visual interest to a room and as the weather cools down (even though it’s not QUITE sweater weather here yet) it’s a great time to cozy up to plaid.  It’s easy to make a seasonal change at home by adding a blanket, throw pillow or changing the curtains.  If you’re braver try a more permanent design feature like a couch or chairs.

Plaid in earth tones is beautiful and masculine when paired with buttery leather furniture and rich woods like mahogany or cherry.   You can also use it in bright colours like spring green or coastal turquoise for kitchens or breakfast nooks.  In the bedroom, nothing is cozier in the winter than a warm blanket.  Look for plaid in relaxing colours like navy and grey and pair with either rusty oranges or crisp whites.
