Drink Up – WINE WALLS

If you want to create a cozy space nothing beats the warm colours of Fall and even though I love the bright pop of a red wall, there’s something more homey in its earthy cousin.  Pair a wine red wall colour with any type of wood, metallic accents in brass or gold, and soft fabrics in sage green or soft cream.  It the bedroom it will create a soothing atmosphere perfect for relaxing after a long day.  In the living room, combine with tobacco coloured leather for a masculine touch.   A bold colour is also great in the kitchen where cabinets and appliance break it up so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

Have a large room?  Warm dark colours visually draw the walls in to make an open space intactly inviting and intimate.

One of the best places to start looking for that perfect shade is in the Historial Palette which is available in most paint brands.  Remember that deeper (or accent) colours may require an extra coat of paint.  A higher quality paint will cover better in less coats so you can get on with your day.  Also, darker colours show more surface imperfections so I would suggest a flat or matte finish if your walls are less than perfect.
