HISTORICAL COLOURS – A Classic Never Goes Out Of Style

Every year around this time, we start seeing trends reports for 2015.  While I love to see the new colour palettes every year, I often find myself going back to the tried and true colours in historical paint collections.   Benjamin Moore recently added Colonial Williamsburg colours to their inventory.  This fan deck features not only the usual muted tones of gold, red, sage and brown but also includes brighter greens and blues which are perfect for both traditional and modern rooms.  Also, while the thousands of colours found in regular paint charts can be overwhelming, this manageable colour collection provides a wide range of choices without feeling too limiting.

“Based on original pigments developed more than 250 years ago, Colonial WILLIAMSBURG’s curators have re-created this rich, authentic palette. Now Benjamin Moore delivers it in state-of-the-art interior and exterior finishes—from rich velvety flat to the highest-gloss. Timeless colors that are historic, contemporary, versatile, and pleasing as ever.”
