Minty Fresh Rooms

Paint is a great way to open up small dark rooms and one of my favorite breezy wall colours is mint. With either a cool blue or green undertone it pairs great with woods like pine, maple or oak.
If you love a rustic look try a greeny mint with whitewashed furniture or flooring and shades of grey and silver. To warm it up in more traditional spaces add gold accessories like picture frames, light fixture, or lamp. For more modern rooms, add plenty of white trim, pieces with sharp corners and sleek lines and other bold colours like hot pink. If you want a bit more drama use mint with high contrast colours like black or rich espresso woods and accents.

You shared some gorgeous renditions of mint done right! I LOVE the mint colored kitchen cabinets. Who would have thought they could look so awesome?!
Thank you for your comment. It IS tough to get mint not to look like a throwback from the 50’s! The mint in the kitchen is stunning and well balanced with sleek appliances, counters, and more contemporary cabinets. Plus there isn’t a lot of clutter which helps the space from looking kitschy.
