GREY And YELLOW – A Modern Pair

Grey has been one of my favourite wall paint colours for years! This contemporary shade is a great alternative to the more traditional beiges and creams but is still neutral enough to work in most spaces.
Grey can range from cool (with either a blue or violet undertone) to warm (with a brown or green undertone). To prevent your room from feeling too moody pair grey with accents in cheerful yellow. For a modern space choose a cool grey for the walls and a bright clean yellow in accents. Pair with clean white woodwork and furniture with sharp lines. For a more traditional space look for a warm grey and add touches of soft yellow or gold. Add soft fabrics and woodwork in shades of cream for a cozy space.

[…] Benjamin Moore Hawthorne Yellow HC-4 from the Historical Collection is one of my go to shades. It’s just the right balance of soft and bright but not too green or orange. It’s perfect not only for kitchens (it goes brilliantly with white cabinets) but also dining rooms, bathrooms, or dark nooks and crannies. For a traditional space pair with reds and greens or for a more contemporary space with shades of grey (for more on using grey and yellow click here). […]
