Go Ahead – Write On The Walls

Chalkboards used to be reserved for the classroom.   However, it’s a great way to have fun with your design at home while creating a message center for your family or a way to express yourself.  Use it in the kitchen to jot down the grocery list, family schedule or dinner menu!  In the living room, express yourself with creative quotes or seasonal drawings (no space for a Christmas tree – draw one on the wall).  In the bedroom, draw your own headboard!  For more flexibility, pair with a magnetic primer.  But don’t limit yourself to the walls. You can paint mugs, lamps, or old wine bottles too!

Make sure you plan your chalkboard project accordingly.  The smoother your surface the better.  Also, make sure you read the manufacture’s instructions because the dry and cure times for each product may be different.  For example, Benjamin Moore’s Chalkboard Paint dries quickly but won’t be ready to use for 3 days.
